Holiday Aid
Thanksgiving
This year, the vast majority of Holiday Aid recipients will receive a gift card from a local supermarket to purchase the food needed for a Thanksgiving meal.
We are seeking monetary donations from the community to help provide Thanksgiving assistance to Greenwich households in need. Your generosity can help ensure that local families and individuals can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with dignity and without the added worry of how they will afford it.
Holiday Aid
Winter Holiday Assistance
During the winter holiday season, Holiday Aid provides assistance to financially eligible Greenwich individuals, families, and seniors.
We are seeking monetary donations to help provide supermarket gift cards to eligible adults and households for holiday food, as well as $25 Amazon, Target, or Walmart gift cards to help families purchase clothing, toys, and other gifts for their children.
Your donation helps ensure that neighbors of all ages can experience the holidays with greater comfort, dignity, and joy.

$25 Amazon, Target, or Walmart gift cards can be purchased directly through the GDHS Fund Amazon Wish List or mailed to the Department of Human Services using the mailing information below.

Holiday Aid
Adopt a Family
Every child deserves the magical experience of unwrapping presents during the holiday season!
Through the Adopt a Family program, community members can provide gifts to children and families served by the Greenwich Department of Human Services (GDHS). Make a direct impact on a local family facing financial challenges and help make their holiday season brighter.
How It Works
Once a family is approved for the program, they complete a Holiday Aid Wish List with their holiday needs and wishes. Families are then matched with an adopter, who receives the family's contact information and wish list. Adopters may communicate directly with the family regarding questions and gift delivery. If you prefer not to deliver gifts directly to the family’s home, you may arrange to have the gifts delivered to Town Hall for the family to pick up.
A Few Things to Know

Gifts typically do not exceed $50 per item.

Adopters may request a smaller family with 1–2 children when completing the Adopt a Family Agreement Form.

You are not expected to purchase everything on the wish list. Families provide options so you can choose what works best for you.

All gifts must be wrapped and delivered by December 17, 2026.
